We have heard Vijah Singh say - "I am donating $5,000 to St. Jude for
every eagle I make this year. What are you doing?".
Greater Delaware Valley celebrities have accepted Vijay's challenge. They are providing you and all
residents of the Greater Delaware valley with the opportunity to pledge and donate funds in support
of several local worthy causes based on the
points they earn in short game skills competitions.
They compete against each other during scheduled events (Golf Tournaments, Auctions, Corporate events, etc).
They compete as teams of one, two or three players each based on the discipline they represent (e.g., Media, Football, Hockey)
You select from a list of charities and pledge an amount for each point
earned by your favorite celebrity during the golf-a-thon. At the end of the golf-a-thon, you write a check for your
total pledge to the charity you selected. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
This year, the celebrities participating in The Greater Delaware Valley (GDV) Celebrity Short Game Skills Challenge
will be playing for the The Main Line Chamber Foundation,
, The Leukemia & Lymphonia Society and the The Eye Tumor Research Foundation
Benefiting Charities and Partner Organizations
The
Main Line Chamber Foundation
Established in 2001 as a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization,
The Main Line Chamber Foundation was formed with the initial goals of
(1) awarding scholarships to deserving seniors from member high schools
attending member colleges and universities,
(2) supporting area high school juniors attending PA Free Enterprise Week summer camp,
and (3) assisting members’ employees participating in the Chamber’s Leadership
Main Line program.
To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships
to deserving Main Line students. The Foundation's funding has come primarily
from The Main Line Run & Fun Walk event held each year in September.
The Leukemia & Lymphonia Society
Leukemia is the general term used to describe four different disease-types called:
- Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)
- Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)
- Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML)
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia .
Lymphoma is a general term for a group of cancers that originate in the lymphatic
system. The lymphomas are divided into two major categories: Hodgkin lymphoma
and all other lymphomas, called non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
The prefix "lymph-" indicates their origin in the malignant change of a
lymphocyte and the suffix "-oma" is derived from the Greek suffix denoting "tumor."
About 53 percent of the blood cancers that occur each year are lymphomas.
About 71,380 people living in the United States will be diagnosed with lymphoma
in 2007. This figure includes approximately 8,190 new cases of Hodgkin lymphoma
(4,470 males and 3,720 females), and 63,190 new cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma
(34,200 males and 28,990 females).
The Eye Tumor Research Foundation
The Eye Tumor Research Foundation is a foundation devoted to research in eye cancers
and eye tumors in an effort to win the struggle for life and sight. The ultimate goal
of the Foundation is to improve patient care by improving methods of diagnosis and treatment
of affected patients. The contributions made to the foundation are specifically for one purpose
- to provide support for research in the investigation of eye cancers and eye tumors.
This organization is based out of the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia where Kyle Lograsso,
our talented six year old who lost his left eye to cancer but still has a golf swing to dream of,
has been treated from day one.

Monies are pledged for each point earned based on the ending proximity of each pitch, chip and putt

A: Yes! It is a golf-a-thon. It is an opportunity to celebrate and make all the points

pledges as you can from friends, family, co-workers and peers.
