GolfChamp ShortGame Skills Challenge
The GolfChamp ShortGame Skills Challenge was designeed to provide
GolfChamp Databank members with a tool to measure, track, analyze and identify
strengths and areas for improvement in their short game skills.
A player can test his/her short game skills by, taking the challenge after
each short game pratice session and, recording the points earned.
GolfChamp will track and analyze the results of each session and
provide feedback to help the player and his/her coach to identify areas for more practice.
Each participant is given 12 opportunities to score points for charity
- Four (4) pitch shots from 50 feet out to circles of 3, 5 and 10 feet on the green. Based on where you land, You earn:
- 7 Points - a hole-in-one
- 5 Points - inner circle
- 2 Points - between 3 and 5 feet circles
- 1 Point - between 5 and 10 feet circles
- Four (4) chip shots from 25 feet out to circles of 3, 5 and 10 feet on the green. Based on where you land, You earn:
- 7 Points - a hole-in-one
- 5 Points - in inner circle
- 2 Points - between 3 and 5 feet circles
- 1 Point - between 5 and 10 feet circles.
- Four (4) putts from 5, 10 and 25 feet to circles of 1, 3 and 5 feet. Based on where you land, You earn:
- 7 Points - a hole-in-one
- 5 points - in inner circle,
- 3 points - between 1 and 3 feet on putts over 5 feet
- 1 point - between 3 and 5 feet on putts over 10 feet.
GolfChamp has also developed a Competitive Ranking System for its ShortGame Skills Challenge.
Each player is classified by "Dozers" or dozens of points.
A player's Dozer value = the total score from his/her best three(3) tries / 12. This coupled with
GolfChamp's GAR (Golf Ability Range) and Seniority rankings, provides GolfChamp members of all age groups (4 to 100) and golf abilities with an innovative tool
to test and improve their ShortGame skills, enjoy competitive fun and team camaraderie while generating funds for worthy causes.
